Racism in Real Estate explores structural racism and the racial wealth gap as it applies to housing. Together with our instructor, public historian Denise Pike, we will consider the history of racial housing discrimination and learn about tools like racial covenants and redlining. We will discuss how these policies have shaped our cities and neighborhoods today. Today's racial wealth gap and homeownership disparities are directly linked to this history of racial housing discrimination.
