    We are a Minnesota based family owned business with our main location in Inver Grove Heights and an opening for a Diesel Mechanic / Technician for our Truck Shop. We are looking for someone with some experience as a mechanic (ideally Diesel Truck experience); detail oriented; willing to jump in and help out where needed; a CDL license; and a strong work ethic. We like to work hard, play hard and take pride in everything we do! 

    This is a second shift position and would have a 4 day a week schedule (min 10 hours per day) 

    This position handles the complete repair and general maintenance of Diesel Heavy Duty Trucks. The essential duties include: 
    • Performs routine servicing and repairing of diesel trucks.
    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble vehicles and examine parts for defects and excessive wear.
    • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
    • Inspect the overall condition of Truck to ensure that they meet U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements.
    • Compile inspection reports detailing their findings
    • Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
    • Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
    • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers.

    • Mechanical aptitude with basic electric diagnostic / troubleshooting experience or technical training
    • Welding experience a plus
    • DOT certification a plus
    • Basic tool set and tool box for heavy truck repair to start (assistance programs available)
    • CDL required within the first year
    • Clean driving record
    • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 10-50 lbs. frequently
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Reliability and a dedication to be a hard worker
    • Ability to work independently maintaining a safe, efficient and friendly work environment
