• Business Lending Specialist

    CMDC is seeking an agile self-starter who can perform multiple duties, grow with the position as it continues to evolve, and meet our partners, clients, and stakeholders with a professional presence in person, online, and on the phone.

    This position will assist senior CMDC lending staff with origination, documentation, closing, funding, and servicing functions. This incumbent will have frequent Interaction with bankers, CMDC clients, accountants, attorneys, escrow agents, municipal officials, and SBA processing center staff. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with general administrative functions and more specific experience with banking and/or financial industry systems and procedures along with a working knowledge of various business marketing channels. The successful candidate must be committed to providing exemplary customer service at every point in all relationships and have a keen attention to detail.

    The successful candidate will perform the following specific functions listed below as directed by CMDC senior staff.

    Loan Application

    · New loan application set up and data entry into CMDC database.

    · Assist in gathering application information from borrowers, bankers, and other project stakeholders.

    · Complete SBA submission forms.

    · Verify client data, process applications, and provide high-level search and investigative functions.


    • Collect closing documentation from borrower and bank lending partners.

    • Assist in closing and funding loans in accordance with CMDC and SBA policies and procedures.

    • Assist with routine servicing actions and coordinate with Loan Servicing Officer to process non- routine servicing actions.

    • Submit funding packages to central servicing agent (CSA).

    • Provide post funding loan packages to borrower.

    • Prepare and maintain borrower servicing files.

    • Submit post funding collateral and custody files to SBA.

    • Update servicing files on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with SBA regulations and CMDC servicing policy.


    General Office Support

    · Telephone support on incoming calls to assist with loan related questions, research and respond to general inquiries.

    · Research and respond to incoming email requests.

    · Electronic file creation, electronic document storage and maintenance.

    · Interact with CMDC stakeholders.

    · Assist with reporting requirements for our stakeholders.

    · Commitment to on-going education as required by CMDC and our stakeholders.

    · Be responsible for adhering to internal controls in the performance of assigned duties.

    · Participate in activities that reinforce CMDC’s commitment to economic development in our area of operations, some of which may occur after normal business hours.

    · Perform other duties as assigned.


    · Post-secondary education desired, either a degree completed or in process.

    · Financial industry experience preferred.

    · Strong communication, customer service and time management skills.

    · Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple duties to meet deadlines.

    · Self-starter with willingness to accept additional responsibilities as opportunities arise.

    · Ability to work collectively within a team environment as well as independently as situations dictate.

    · Research and problem-solving capabilities.

    · Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    · Proficient computer skills – Windows Office Suite and other third-party applications.

    · Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and positive attitude with team members and clients.

    Must be able to pass FBI/SBA background check.

    This position will report to Chief Credit Officer

    This is a salaried position – the salary range is between $45,000 and $65,000 annually.

    All current staff members have had all three doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine and new staff will be expected to have as well. We limit office visits and use social distancing in all interactions.
