    POSITION: Patient Services - Medical Receptionist

    REPORTS TO: Front Desk Supervisor

    CHECK-IN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Greets patients coming for their appointment
    • Data enter demographics, insurance, patient and financial notes, etc.
    • Ensures required authorizations are signed and required insurance referrals are on file
    • Hands out various questionnaires to be completed by patient
    • Scans documents
    • Insurance verification
    • Tags patients ready for the tech/doctor
    • Provides back-up support for check-out and additional phone coverage as needed

    CHECK-OUT RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Greets patient and tags their appointment completed
    • Collects balance due on account, copays
    • Schedule future appointments, including off site appointments
    • Print summaries
    • Dispense and enter payments for CL and retail products
    • Data enter “no charge and post op yesterday” route slips
    • Scans documents
    • End of day closing (reports, money, etc.)
    • Provide back-up support for check-in and additional phone coverage as needed

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collect surgical payments

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 2+ years of previous experience as a medical receptionist
    • Familiar with EMR systems
    • Perform other duties
