MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce welcomes new Board members and officers.
Blaine, MN – January 2020
The MetroNorth Chamber has new leadership in 2020 with several additions to the Board of Directors and a new slate of officers.
Abigail Johnson, TriNet, has been a regular attendee at Working with Women and the Workforce Development Committee. As an human resources consultant for TriNet, she believes her strengths will help small businesses thrive and help the chamber implement community ideas.
“Connecting and collaborating while working towards a meaningful goal are at the base of what I do daily,” Johnson said.
Andrea Melberg Thompson, Mercy Hospital Foundation, is in her ninth year as development director for the Foundation. She has been engaged with MetroNorth in a multitude of ways, including attending the Business Councils, Galas, meetings, and Working with Women. Melberg Thompson says she loves the north metro and is thankful to work in the community for Mercy, which is one of the area’s largest employers.
“Healthcare weaves into all aspects of a community, and most certainly plays a role in business,” Melberg Thompson said.
Bob Hylland is the vice president of business solutions for Financial One Credit Union. He has been very active in the Chamber since starting at Financial One in 2015. His involvement includes the Golf and Ambassador Committees and many events. He is increasing his involvement with the Chamber to help promote common interests of businesses.
“I want to be part of a chamber board that influences local governments on issues that impact chamber businesses,” Hylland said.
Stefani Havel, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, has been a member of MetroNorth for more than nine years. She has been involved with a variety of events and sponsorships.
“I’m so impressed with the MetroNorth Chamber and the many events and activities it offers,” Havel said. She looks forward to bringing new ideas and fresh perspectives to further grow the chamber.
Also, Erik Hegg, President of Border State Bank, was appointed to the Board in October due to a vacancy.
The 2020 Board of Directors executive officers are: Chair Don Haller, Connexus Energy, Vice Chair Scott Hanson, Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures, Interim Past Chair Dan Thomsen, Northeast Bank, and Treasurer Mike Kaeding, Norhart.
Returning Board members are Brad Boldt, Ameriguard Insurance Agency; Heather Farr, Vision Staffing Solutions; Nate Klauser, Edward Jones; Kim Nybo, Nybo Insurance Agency; and Amy Weber-DeRaad, Mary Kay.
