Your Business in the Cloud
Bill Miller from High Power Data Solutions spoke at one of our previous Sunrise events and discussed the importance of having your business in the cloud. Not only does having your business in the cloud help with efficiency, it can help your business recover if your system crashes and you lose your documents.
The first take away is Accessibility.
The beauty of cloud-based business systems is that anybody in your company can get to the information they need when they need it. No more delays or waiting for somebody else to get you the information because it is on their computer. If someone needs to work remote or access files on the go, having your documents on the cloud makes that easier. Not only does it make it easier for accessibility, but it allows you to have a backup of the documents saved on a hard drive as well. Having two if not three places where you back up your documents is essential to ensure that your business can operate if one of those crashes.
The second take away is Security.
Sure, having your documents on the cloud can sound scary especially with news about security breaches. Online or cloud-based systems can be very secure, but you must follow the guidelines for security. This means good passwords, and not sharing them with anybody else.
The final take away is Automation.
The best part of having a cloud-based business system is that your business can be automated.
The systems and steps and actions which you take every day can be developed into macros or scripts and save you a lot of time.
The process of creating reports, importing or exporting data, or finding documents can all be automated. This means less time trying to manage your systems and more time doing what you need to do!
