On May 25th, 2020, Minnesotans around the state felt incredible grief, pain and outrage when George Floyd was killed. Since then our communities have been torn apart, both literally and figuratively. BLAINE, Minn. (FOX 9) - A new program in the north metro is working to help link employers with young people trying to break into the workforce for the first time.Blaine High School is partnering with the Metro North Chamber of Commerce to place teens into jobs within their community.The local chamber did a pilot program last year in a partnership with Coon Rapids High School. After placing about half of its teens into a variety of different jobs, the program is expanding and even getting some attention

The Anoka County Regional Economic Development Partnership was honored with a 2019 Economic Development Association of Minnesota (EDAM) Award during EDAM’s Winter Conference Jan. 24 in St. Louis Park.
